Sonic Death Monkey – Départ du bassiste

English translation below the French one.

Sonic Death Monkey just announced that their bassist will withdraw from the band. Here is the translation of the messages posted on the official website by the staff and the members of the band :

“Thank you very much for continuously supporting Sonic Death Monkey. We have an announcement to make.
Due to personal reasons, our bassist Ritsu decided to leave the band after a performance at Shibuya REX on May 23rd.
You can find the members’ comments below.”

Ritsu (ba.)
“I’m sorry for this sudden announcement.
Here is Ritsu. Until now, I was working as a bassist and I had another work in parallel. However, I have more and more work and it becomes really difficult to keep time for the band.
I know that it’s a source of trouble for the other members of the band so after several talks, I made the decision to leave the band on May 23rd, even if it makes me sad.
I’m really sorry for causing so many troubles to the fans who support all the band members and to all the people working with Sonic Death Monkey.
It has only been a short time since I joined the band, about 1 and a half years, but this time spent with the members and the fans was really cool and I enjoyed it.
I will give all my energy as a bassist of Sonic Death Monkey until May 23rd to leave without the slightest regret. I count on your support.”

Takuya (vo.)
“After about 2 and a half years as a support member, Ritsu joined us in Sonic Death Monkey. I have a lot of memories of this time, when we first asked him to be our support member, he told us that music wasn’t his world at all but now, he really likes Sonic Death Monkey.
Since I’m the one managing the band, I know that Ritsu really did his best to combine his work with the band, he always juggled with both activities, no matter how hard it was. I really understand his situation.
Obviously, I would like to continue like this, but after several talks with all the members, it seemed obvious to us that it was the only possible solution.
Ritsu, I’m really happy to have been able to spend time with you within Sonic Death Monkey, thank you. I’m counting on the support of everyone towards Ritsu and Sonic Death Monkey from now on.”

Haru (gt.)
“With Ritsu, we used to always work together to compose the main songs and after “Jounetsu ti Amo” he told me “I really have a good feeling about this song, let’s compose more songs as nice as this one from now on”. I’m really sad that we came there.
I guess that it was impossible for him to do so many things.
Throughout the time we’ve been working together, Ritsu has really been like a big brother to me, I’m going to feel really alone when he’s gone.
Ritsu, thank you for everything..! “

Atsu (gt.)
“Actually, I have known Ritsu for a long time. When we met, we both worked as roadies. I remember that I found it really strange to stand on stage with him.
Ritsu’s rhythm was really stable, on stage he’s the best bassist I’ve ever seen, I felt safe with him. Honestly, I felt lonely and anxious every time I had to stand on stage without Ritsu by my side. But now that this decision has been made, I’m happy to know that Ritsu’s schedule will finally be slighter.
As we announced it, Ritsu will leave the band, I hope he can count on your support in the future!”

Seiya (dr.)
“1 and a half year is really short, but it was a really intense time!
We always were in perfect harmony when we were playing together, before going on stage we didn’t even need to talk about the arrangements, it’s amazing how we always thought of the same thing at the same time.
He’s the best partner.
He’s really a reliable bassist, a real genius !!
It was really cool to be part of a band by his side!
I learned a lot thanks to him, I will have to return the favor!
We will be only a four-members band now, but I cherish each memory shared with Ritsu, I will do my best from now on.”
