MonstlloW is a visual rock band that officially began its activities on June 21, 2017. Originally consisting of four members, the band now continues its journey with Laki on vocals and Yutara on bass. Despite performing as a duo, they continue to deliver intense, high-energy performances that remain true to their identity.
MonstlloW’s concept revolves around lies, as reflected in their motto: 「嘘を吐き出し、全てを飲み込む」 (Uso wo hakidashi, subete wo nomikomu / “Spit out your lies, swallow everything”). Invisible yet ever-present in our daily lives, lies lie at the heart of the band’s universe and are explored from many different angles throughout their music. Their fans are even known as “Liars”. Over the years, MonstlloW has built a distinctive identity by developing this theme across numerous singles, mini-albums, and albums.
On June 23, 2026, MonstlloW celebrated their ninth anniversary with a one-man live at Shinjuku Wild Side in Tokyo. We had the pleasure of attending this special event and invite you to relive this anniversary show with us.
As the curtain rises, an imposing structure at the back of the stage immediately draws the audience’s attention. Mounted on it are three screens, topped with an illuminated element resembling a neon logo. Behind them, a large screen displays the name MonstlloW in a striking visual effect reminiscent of a laser projection. Yutara is the first to take the stage, quickly followed by Laki. Both musicians debut their new visual, showcasing meticulously styled hair and makeup. After greeting the crowd, they raise their arms in a gesture of unity before Laki enthusiastically shouts, “Let’s go!”, officially kicking off the anniversary show.
The opening notes of “false” ring out, instantly setting off a mosh in the crowd. Smiling, Laki watches with satisfaction as fans surge from side to side before making his way to the center platform. Spreading his arms wide, he performs part of the song without his microphone, then crouches down to get a closer look at the fans as they continue bouncing from one side of the venue to the other. On bass, Yutara impresses with his technical skill, effortlessly alternating between hard-hitting bass lines and slap techniques. While providing backing vocals, he regularly steps up to the edge of the stage, wearing a constant smile. Throughout the song, the screens display animations that further immerse the audience in MonstlloW’s universe. On both the screens mounted on the stage structure and the large screen at the back, skeletons headbang in perfect sync with the crowd. From the very first moments, the “Liars” are fully engaged, giving MonstlloW an energy worthy of this ninth anniversary celebration.
With “Neo Masquerade”, the entire venue begins jumping in unison. During the verse, Yutara joins in on the vocals as fans spin around without ever stopping their rhythmic bouncing. Fully immersed in the moment, the bassist constantly exchanges smiles with the crowd while once again showcasing his technical prowess through several impressive slap bass passages. The atmosphere reaches another level when Yutara unleashes a growl into the microphone, immediately triggering a venue-wide headbang. Crouched at the front of the stage, Laki watches the fans before rising to his feet with his arms spread wide. He then answers with a powerful growl of his own, his voice intertwining with Yutara’s in a performance that is both fierce and utterly committed.
“嘘泣キ少女” (Usonaki shoujo) opens with a frenzied headbang as fans throw their arms into the air with force. Laki crosses the stage to the right-hand side, urging the crowd on, while Yutara skips toward center stage, enthusiastically singing along. During the chorus, Laki delivers every line with intensity, punctuating the lyrics with expressive hand and arm movements. Yutara’s growl sends the tension soaring before another collective headbang starts. The bassist then moves behind Laki, who is crouched at the front of the stage, leaning over him in an unsettling piece of staging. Bathed in red light, the venue fills with a succession of headbangs and oritatami. After this surge of energy, the atmosphere suddenly shifts. Under purple lighting, Yutara remains motionless, bent over his bass, leaving the spotlight entirely to Laki’s solo before straightening up to launch the song back into full force.
The stage is once again bathed in red for “Dirty Face”. From the very first notes, Yutara makes his way across to the right-hand side of the stage before Laki enthusiastically shouts, “Let’s go!”, instantly setting off a frenzied headbang throughout the venue. As the bassist steps up to the edge of the stage, Laki joins him on the right, leaning toward the front rows. During the fast-paced chorus, the vocalist crouches down in front of the crowd, locking eyes with the fans. The pit bursts into an energetic oritatami while Yutara plays close to the ground, bent over his bass. Laki then urges the audience to give even more, repeatedly shouting, “More!” before adding, “Shinjuku! I can’t hear you! Louder!”, prompting an immediate roar from the crowd. One final growl from Yutara, delivered with a broad smile, brings the song to a close before a brief pause.
After four particularly intense songs, Laki takes a moment to greet the audience. Pointing out that MonstlloW has not performed since January, he smiles and says, “Almost six months, that’s way too long!” He then introduces the stage installation at the back, explaining that he designed it himself before asking the crowd what they think of it. Yutara then takes the microphone in turn. “It’s pretty hot in here today, isn’t it?” he remarks, earning immediate agreement from both Laki and the fans. The two musicians go on to chat about their new outfits, their recently released promotional photos, and the idea of organizing an event featuring several bands. Yutara eventually takes his place behind the computer to entertain the crowd, while Laki playfully teases him with, “Come on, DJ Yutara!” before introducing the next song.
The sound of bubbling water opens “Can you hear me?”, instantly creating a calmer atmosphere. Standing behind his microphone stand, Laki accompanies the introduction with graceful arm movements while Yutara lets himself be carried away by the music. The stage then falls completely still: bathed in a soft spotlight, Laki stands alone at the front, while Yutara remains motionless in the shadows and the audience watches in silence. Blue and golden lighting replaces the harsh hues of the previous songs. Yutara’s deep bass lines gradually give way to fast, precise slap bass that resonates throughout the venue. Gripping the microphone with both hands, Laki effortlessly shifts between clean vocals and controlled growls before softly delivering a heartfelt “Aishiteru” (“I love you”), bringing time to a standstill. He finally breaks the spell with a smile: “I want us to have fun together. Are you ready?”, inviting the audience to dive back into the concert’s energy alongside him.
The energy surges right back with “VIRTUAL FLIGHT”. From the very first notes, the fans are once again jumping in unison as Yutara makes his way across the stage before joining Laki in the center. Standing side by side, the two musicians exchange broad smiles, clearly enjoying every moment. As the crowd claps along to the beat, Yutara joins in, clapping his hands while enthusiastically providing backing vocals. Swaying behind his bass, he seems to savor every second of the song. When the chorus hits, the pair step forward together, urging the audience to jump even higher. Laki constantly gestures toward the crowd, turning the entire venue into an explosion of joy. If there’s one MonstlloW song that can sweep everyone up in its infectious energy, it’s this one.
With “Ms.Black Cat”, MonstlloW’s energy never lets up. Behind his bass, Yutara dances throughout the entire song, while Laki steps up to the front of the stage before raising a hand to his brow to scan the crowd. He then makes his way to both sides of the stage, leaning over the front rows to get as close to the fans as possible. During the chorus, Yutara sings along with Laki before showing off his technique in a bass solo, punctuated by a smile and a playful tongue-out gesture. The intensity immediately rises again as an energetic mosh breaks out. Still smiling, Yutara keeps dancing while Laki urges the crowd to bounce even harder before shouting “Jump!”, sending the entire venue into motion as one. After another powerful headbang, Laki once again gets the audience shouting before calling out Yutara by name, giving his bandmate one final moment to shine with his bass.
“Greedy Monster” immediately throws the venue back into a whirlwind of oritatami and headbanging. Yutara’s bass takes center stage as he delivers another particularly hard-hitting solo. During the chorus, the fans jump while twirling their towels before launching into another collective headbang as the red lights return. As the tempo eases, the purple lighting gradually gives way to an intense golden glow, leaving Yutara alone in the spotlight for an extended bass solo — a true highlight of the song, with every note resonating powerfully throughout the venue. Laki then reignites the crowd with a growl, triggering another oritatami, before calling out to the fans by their nickname: “Liars!”. Returning to the front of the stage, Yutara rounds off the song with a series of playful, provocative gestures directed at the audience.
Before launching into the final part of the show, MonstlloW takes a moment to chat with the audience. Laki reflects on the band’s journey, explaining that after several lineup changes, they found themselves wondering whether they should continue as a duo or recruit new members. Although a manipulator joined them on stage last year, the pair now feel they have found the right balance, describing their current setup as “both more challenging and easier”. The two musicians also point out that they have now been performing together as MonstlloW for nine years, not even counting the years they spent playing side by side before the band was formed.
The conversation continues in a relaxed atmosphere, turning to Yutara’s creative work. After once again introducing the stage installation at the back of the venue, the bassist reveals that he also designed the neon-style logo displayed above it. The two musicians then talk about the band’s T-shirts, which were also designed by Yutara, before the conversation drifts to the World Cup and video games. While Yutara admits he keeps up more with gaming than football, Laki proudly declares himself a devoted sports fan. The exchange wraps up with a lighthearted discussion about Super Smash Bros., Laki’s fondness for Fox as his favorite character, and a few amusing impressions of Yoshi, before the vocalist leaves it to Yutara to introduce the next song. With visible emotion, the bassist announces MonstlloW’s very first song.
The opening scenes from the music video appear on the screens as “ビッグマウス・マーチ” (Big Mouth March) begins, instantly immersing the venue in its world. The headbanging resumes with renewed intensity, driven by Laki’s growls as he nearly doubles over to add even more force to his performance. When the chorus hits, the entire venue jumps in unison before another wave of oritatami sweeps through the pit. Smiling throughout, Yutara crosses the stage, regularly making his way to the front edge, while Laki alternates between both sides of the stage. During the pre-recorded instrumental section, the two musicians march past each other face to face like a parade, with Yutara stepping backward as Laki moves forward. The bassist then joins the fans in the oritatami before returning to play back-to-back with Laki, leaning against him as he arches backward. The song comes to a close with one final headbang shared with the crowd, bringing the performance to an end in the same explosive atmosphere.
“WE ARE LIAR” immediately sends the atmosphere into overdrive. From the very first seconds, Laki belts out, “We are Liar! Louder!”, while Yutara repeatedly chants, “Uso! Uso! Uso!”, instantly echoed by the crowd. A mosh quickly breaks out, and the two musicians pour even more energy into keeping the excitement at its peak. Smiling from ear to ear, Yutara makes his way to the front of the stage, moving in time with the pit as he constantly interacts with the fans. Meanwhile, Laki climbs onto the center platform, raising his fist toward the back of the venue before leaning out over the audience to urge everyone to join in. Cries of “Uso! Uso! Uso!” ring out from every corner of the venue as the crowd jumps through every chorus. The atmosphere reaches its peak when Laki calls out to the back of the venue one last time before shouting, “Ready for the last one?”, inviting everyone to give everything they have for the final song.
MonstlloW brings its anniversary show to a close with “pap-para-par” in one final explosion of energy. A mosh starts again from the very first measures as Yutara moves tirelessly from one side of the stage to the other. Laki shouts a powerful, “Atama!” (Head!), instantly triggering a venue-wide headbang before pausing for a few moments on the center platform to take in the sight of a completely fired-up crowd. His calls of “Hey! Hey! Hey!” are immediately echoed by the audience while Yutara provides backing vocals. Another oritatami then ignites the pit before the entire venue jumps together one last time. Laki’s chants of “Liar! Liar!” ring out until the final notes, after which he warmly concludes, “Thank you! We are MonstlloW”. Amid loud applause and cheers from the fans, the two musicians offer one last greeting to the audience before leaving the stage.
For the encore, Laki returns to the stage alone to warm applause. Jokingly, he points out that he is now on his own and admits that what he really needs is a glass of water before asking the audience what they thought of this first show after several months away from the stage. Meanwhile, Yutara quietly watches him from the stage entrance. Laki then thanks the fans and invites Yutara to come back onstage. Smartphone in hand, Yutara playfully begins changing the colors of the logo mounted at the top of the stage structure in real time. After trying out a few different settings, he settles on a flashing rainbow effect, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The two musicians then talk about their plans for the upcoming months. They reveal their goal of releasing a new song accompanied by a music video by October, while acknowledging that it will be an ambitious challenge. They also point out that they handled much of the work behind this ninth anniversary themselves, from designing their costumes to creating the promotional photos. Keeping the relaxed atmosphere going, Laki wraps up the MC with a story about the accessory he is wearing around his neck. He explains that it reminds him of the one he used to wear in elementary school, one he simply couldn’t resist tugging on back then.
To close out the evening, MonstlloW performs “false” once again, this time with special permission for the audience to film. From the very first notes, the mosh kicks off once again. Yutara makes his way to the front extension on the left side of the stage, firing up the fans with the same boundless energy, while Laki climbs onto the structure at the back of the stage to perform several parts of the song. Between choruses, the vocalist joins in with the audience’s clapping before one final collective headbang sets the entire venue ablaze one last time.
For the final song, “WE ARE LIAR” once again sends the atmosphere soaring. The fans give everything they have until the very last seconds, matching the energy of Laki and Yutara as they come together at the front of the stage to share this final with the crowd. Yutara throws himself into the performance with relentless headbanging, jumps, and movements in perfect sync with the song, while Laki climbs onto the stage structure one last time to rally the audience. A true staple of MonstlloW’s live shows, the song provides the perfect ending to this ninth anniversary celebration.
To warm applause, the duo announces the arrival of a “new MonstlloW” this October before sincerely thanking the audience. Laki bids the fans one final farewell to a chorus of cheers before leaving the stage. Yutara then takes a moment to thank everyone with a wave, bows deeply, and heads backstage, bringing to a close an evening defined by infectious energy, genuine chemistry, and an unwavering passion.
After several months away from the stage, MonstlloW made a compelling return with this anniversary show. Combining boundless energy with the unmistakable chemistry that has always defined the duo, Laki and Yutara proved they have lost none of their strength. With a new song and music video already scheduled for October, this ninth anniversary celebration felt as much like a comeback as the beginning of a new chapter for MonstlloW—one that promises an exciting future.

MonstlloW est un groupe de visual rock ayant officiellement débuté ses activités le 21 juin 2017. À l’origine composé de quatre membres, le groupe poursuit aujourd’hui son parcours avec Laki au chant et Yutara à la basse. Une formation réduite qui ne les empêche aucunement de livrer des performances intenses, débordantes d’énergie et fidèles à leur identité.
Le concept de MonstlloW gravite autour du mensonge, comme l’illustre leur devise : 「嘘を吐き出し、全てを飲み込む」(NdT: Cracher ses mensonges, tout ravaler). Invisible, mais omniprésent dans nos vies, le mensonge est au cœur de leur univers, exploré sous de multiples facettes à travers leur musique. Leurs fans portent d’ailleurs le nom de « Liars » (NdT : menteurs). Au fil des années, le groupe s’est forgé une identité singulière en développant cette thématique au travers de nombreux singles, mini-albums et albums.
Le 23 juin 2026, MonstlloW célébrait son neuvième anniversaire sur la scène du Shinjuku Wild Side, à Tokyo. Nous avons eu le plaisir d’assister à cet événement et vous proposons de revivre avec nous cette soirée anniversaire.
Lorsque le rideau se lève, le regard est immédiatement attiré par une imposante structure installée au centre du fond de la scène. Celui-ci supporte trois écrans, surmontés d’un élément évoquant un logo en néon. À l’arrière, un écran affiche le nom de MonstlloW dans un effet visuel rappelant une inscription au laser. Yutara fait son entrée le premier, rapidement rejoint par Laki. Les deux musiciens arborent leur nouveau look, mettant en valeur un travail particulièrement soigné sur leurs coiffures et leur maquillage. Après avoir salué le public, ils lèvent le bras en signe de ralliement avant que Laki ne lance un enthousiaste « C’est parti ! », donnant ainsi le coup d’envoi de cette soirée anniversaire.
Les premières notes de « false » retentissent, déclenchant instantanément un mosh dans la fosse. Souriant, Laki observe avec satisfaction le public se déplacer de gauche à droite avant de rejoindre la plateforme centrale. Les bras écartés, il interprète un passage sans son micro puis s’accroupit pour observer les fans qui continuent de sautiller d’un côté à l’autre de la salle de plus près. À la basse, Yutara impressionne par sa dextérité, alternant lignes percutantes et slaps avec aisance. Tout en assurant les chœurs, il s’avance régulièrement au bord de la scène, toujours le sourire aux lèvres. Tout au long du morceau, les écrans diffusent des animations venant enrichir l’univers du groupe. Sur les écrans de la structure comme au fond de la scène, des squelettes headbanguent en parfaite synchronisation avec le public. Dès les premières minutes, les « Liars » répondent présents, offrant à MonstlloW une énergie à la hauteur de cette neuvième célébration.
Avec « Neo Masquerade », toute la salle saute à l’unisson. Pendant le couplet, Yutara reprend les paroles, tandis que les fans tournent sur eux-mêmes sans cesser de bondir au rythme de la musique. Le bassiste vit pleinement chaque instant, multipliant sourires et échanges avec le public, tout en démontrant une nouvelle fois sa maîtrise technique à travers plusieurs passages en slap. L’ambiance monte encore d’un cran lorsque Yutara growl dans son micro, déclenchant immédiatement un headbang collectif. Accroupi au bord de la scène, Laki observe les fans avant de se redresser, les bras grands ouverts. Son growl puissant rejoint alors celui de Yutara, les deux voix se mêlant dans une performance aussi intense que pleinement investie.
« 嘘泣キ少女 » (Usonaki shoujo) s’ouvre sur un headbang frénétique, les fans lançant leur bras en l’air avec force. Laki traverse la scène jusqu’au côté droit pour entraîner le public, tandis que Yutara rejoint le centre en sautillant, reprenant les paroles avec enthousiasme. Pendant le refrain, Laki interprète chaque parole avec intensité, multipliant les gestes des mains et des bras. Le growl de Yutara fait monter la tension avant un nouveau headbang collectif. Puis le bassiste vient se placer derrière Laki accroupi au bord de la scène, se penchant au-dessus de lui dans une mise en scène inquiétante. Baignée de lumières rouges, la salle enchaîne headbangs et oritatami. Après cette déferlante d’énergie, l’atmosphère retombe brusquement. Sous un éclairage violet, Yutara reste figé, penché sur sa basse, laissant toute la place au solo de Laki avant de se redresser pour relancer le morceau.
La scène se pare à nouveau de rouge pour « Dirty Face ». Dès l’introduction, Yutara traverse la scène jusqu’au côté droit avant que Laki ne lance un énergique « C’est parti ! », déclenchant instantanément un headbang frénétique dans la salle. Alors que le bassiste s’avance au bord de la scène, Laki rejoint à son tour le côté droit, penché vers les premiers rangs. Sur le refrain au rythme effréné, le chanteur s’accroupit face au public, croisant le regard des fans. La fosse enchaîne un oritatami énergique pendant que Yutara joue au plus près du sol, penché sur sa basse. Laki pousse ensuite la foule à se dépasser avec une série de « Encore ! », avant d’ajouter : « Shinjuku ! Je ne vous entends pas ! Plus fort ! », obtenant une réponse immédiate. Un dernier growl de Yutara, accompagné d’un large sourire, vient conclure le morceau avant une courte pause.
Après quatre morceaux particulièrement intenses, Laki prend la parole pour saluer le public. Il souligne que MonstlloW ne s’était plus produit depuis janvier : « Presque six mois, c’est beaucoup trop long ! », lance-t-il avec le sourire. Il présente ensuite l’installation située au fond de la scène, expliquant en avoir lui-même imaginé le design, avant de demander au public ce qu’il en pense. Yutara prend alors la parole à son tour : « L’ambiance est chaude aujourd’hui, pas vrai ? », une remarque aussitôt approuvée par Laki et les fans. Les deux musiciens échangent ensuite autour de leurs nouveaux costumes, des photos promotionnelles récemment réalisées et de leur idée d’organiser un événement réunissant plusieurs groupes. Yutara s’installe finalement derrière l’ordinateur pour amuser la salle, tandis que Laki le taquine avec un amusé « Allez, Yutara DJ ! », avant d’annoncer le morceau suivant.
Le bruit de bulles d’eau ouvre « Can you hear me ? », installant instantanément une atmosphère plus calme. Derrière son pied de micro, Laki accompagne l’introduction de mouvements de bras tandis que Yutara se laisse porter par la musique. La scène se fige ensuite : baigné d’un halo de lumière, Laki reste seul au premier plan, tandis que Yutara demeure immobile dans l’ombre et que le public observe le silence. Les éclairages bleus et dorés remplacent les teintes agressives des morceaux précédents. La basse profonde de Yutara laisse progressivement place à un slap rapide et précis qui fait vibrer la salle. Les deux mains agrippées à son micro, Laki alterne avec aisance chant clair et growl maîtrisé, avant de laisser résonner un poignant « Aishiteru » (NdT : Je t’aime), suspendant le temps. Il brise finalement cet instant d’émotion en lançant : « Je veux qu’on s’amuse ensemble. C’est parti ? », invitant le public à replonger avec lui dans l’énergie du concert.
L’énergie repart de plus belle avec « VIRTUAL FLIGHT ». Dès les premières notes, les fans se remettent à sauter tandis que Yutara traverse la scène avant de rejoindre Laki au centre. Côte à côte, les deux musiciens échangent de larges sourires et profitent pleinement de l’instant. Au rythme des applaudissements du public, Yutara tape lui aussi dans ses mains tout en assurant les chœurs avec un enthousiasme communicatif. Se balançant derrière sa basse, il semble savourer chaque seconde du morceau. Au refrain, les deux artistes s’avancent ensemble pour encourager les fans à sauter toujours plus haut. Laki multiplie les gestes en leur direction, transformant la salle en une véritable explosion de bonne humeur. S’il y a bien un morceau de MonstlloW capable d’emporter tout le monde dans son énergie communicative, c’est celui-ci.
Avec « Ms.Black Cat », l’énergie de MonstlloW ne faiblit pas. Derrière sa basse, Yutara danse tout au long du morceau, tandis que Laki s’avance au bord de la scène avant de porter sa main en visière pour scruter la salle. Il rejoint ensuite les côtés de la scène, se penchant au-dessus des premiers rangs au plus près des fans. Pendant le refrain, Yutara reprend les paroles avec Laki, avant de mettre sa technique en valeur lors d’un solo de basse ponctué d’un sourire et d’un amusant tirage de langue. La tension remonte aussitôt avec un mosh intense. Le sourire aux lèvres, Yutara continue de danser tandis que Laki pousse la foule à sautiller toujours plus loin, avant de lancer un puissant « Jump ! » auquel toute la salle répond d’un seul mouvement. Après un headbang énergique, Laki fait une nouvelle fois crier le public avant d’appeler son partenaire par son nom, offrant à Yutara un dernier moment de mise en lumière avec sa basse.
« Greedy Monster » replonge immédiatement la salle dans une déferlante d’oritatami et de headbangs. La basse de Yutara occupe une place centrale, le musicien s’offrant un nouveau solo particulièrement percutant. Au refrain, les fans sautent en faisant tournoyer leurs serviettes avant d’enchaîner sur un headbang sous le retour des lumières rouges. Lorsque le rythme ralentit, les teintes violettes cèdent progressivement la place à un intense halo doré, mettant Yutara seul en lumière pour un long solo de basse, véritable temps fort du morceau où chaque note résonne avec puissance. Laki relance ensuite la salle d’un growl, déclenchant un nouvel oritatami, avant d’interpeller les fans par leur surnom : « Liar ! ». Revenu au bord de la scène, Yutara conclut ce passage par quelques gestes provocateurs en direction du public.
Avant d’entamer la dernière partie du concert, MonstlloW prend le temps d’échanger avec le public. Laki revient sur l’évolution du groupe, expliquant qu’après plusieurs changements de formation, ils se sont demandé s’ils devaient poursuivre l’aventure à deux ou recruter de nouveaux membres. Si un manipulateur les avait rejoints sur scène l’an dernier, le duo estime aujourd’hui avoir trouvé son équilibre, une configuration qu’ils décrivent comme « à la fois plus difficile et plus simple ». Les deux musiciens rappellent également qu’ils jouent ensemble sous le nom de MonstlloW depuis maintenant neuf ans, sans même compter les années passées côte à côte avant la création du groupe.
La conversation se poursuit dans une ambiance détendue autour des créations de Yutara. Après avoir présenté une nouvelle fois l’installation au fond de la scène, le bassiste révèle être à l’origine du logo en néon qui la surplombe. Le bassiste présente alors avec émotion la toute première chanson de MonstlloW.
Les premières images du clip apparaissent sur les écrans tandis que débute « ビッグマウス・マーチ » (Big Mouth March), plongeant instantanément la salle dans son univers. Les headbangs reprennent de plus belle, accompagnés des growls de Laki, qui se plie presque en deux pour renforcer l’intensité de son interprétation. Au refrain, toute la salle saute à l’unisson avant qu’un nouvel oritatami ne déferle dans la fosse. Le mosh reprend dès les premières mesures tandis que Yutara parcourt la scène de gauche à droite. Laki lance un puissant « Atama ! » pour déclencher un headbang collectif, avant de s’immobiliser quelques instants sur la plateforme centrale, admirant une salle totalement déchaînée. Les « Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! » du chanteur sont aussitôt repris par le public, tandis que Yutara assure les chœurs. Un nouvel oritatami embrase ensuite la fosse avant que toute la salle ne saute une dernière fois à l’unisson. Les « Liar ! Liar ! » de Laki résonnent jusqu’aux dernières notes, puis le chanteur conclut d’un chaleureux « Merci ! C’était MonstlloW ! ». Sous les applaudissements et les cris des fans, les deux musiciens saluent une dernière fois le public avant de quitter la scène.
Pour le rappel, Laki revient seul sur scène sous les applaudissements. Sur le ton de la plaisanterie, il fait remarquer qu’il est désormais seul et confie avoir surtout besoin d’un verre d’eau, avant de demander au public ce qu’il a pensé de ce premier concert après plusieurs mois d’absence. Pendant ce temps, Yutara l’observe discrètement depuis l’entrée de la scène. Laki remercie ensuite les fans et l’invite à revenir. Smartphone à la main, Yutara s’amuse alors à modifier en direct les couleurs du logo installé au sommet de la structure. Après quelques essais, il lui donne un effet arc-en-ciel clignotant, déclenchant les applaudissements du public.
Les deux musiciens évoquent ensuite leurs projets pour les prochains mois. Ils annoncent leur volonté de sortir une nouvelle chanson accompagnée d’un clip d’ici octobre, tout en reconnaissant que le défi sera de taille. Ils rappellent également avoir eux-mêmes réalisé une grande partie du travail autour de ce neuvième anniversaire, des costumes aux photos promotionnelles. Toujours dans une ambiance détendue, Laki conclut ce MC par une anecdote sur l’accessoire qu’il porte autour du cou. Il explique que celui-ci lui rappelle celui qu’il portait à l’école primaire, et sur lequel il ne pouvait s’empêcher de tirer à l’époque.
Pour conclure la soirée, MonstlloW reprend « false », cette fois avec une autorisation exceptionnelle de filmer. Dès les premières notes, le mosh repart de plus belle. Yutara rejoint l’avancée de scène côté gauche, interpellant les fans avec une énergie toujours intacte, tandis que Laki grimpe sur la structure installée au fond de la scène pour interpréter plusieurs passages. Entre deux refrains, le chanteur accompagne les applaudissements du public avant qu’un nouveau headbang collectif ne vienne une dernière fois embraser la salle.
Pour le dernier morceau, « WE ARE LIAR » fait une nouvelle fois exploser l’ambiance. MonstlloW ist eine Visual-Rock-Band, die am 21. Juni 2017 offiziell ihre Tätigkeit aufnahm. Ursprünglich bestand die Band aus vier Mitgliedern, doch mittlerweile setzt sie ihren Weg mit Laki als Sänger und Yutara am Bass fort. Obwohl sie nun als Duo auftreten, liefern sie weiterhin intensive, energiegeladene Auftritte, die ihrer Identität treu bleiben.
Das Konzept von MonstlloW dreht sich um Lügen, was sich auch in ihrem Motto widerspiegelt: „嘘を吐き出し、全てを飲み込む“ (Uso wo hakidashi, subete wo nomikomu, dt.: „Spuck deine Lügen aus, schluck alles“). Unsichtbar und doch allgegenwärtig in unserem Alltag bilden Lügen den Kern des Universums der Band und werden in ihrer Musik aus vielen verschiedenen Blickwinkeln beleuchtet. Ihre Fans sind sogar als „Liars“ (dt.: Lügner) bekannt. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich MonstlloW eine unverwechselbare Identität aufgebaut, indem sie dieses Thema in zahlreichen Singles, Mini-Alben und Alben weiterentwickelt hat.
Am 23. Juni 2026 feierte MonstlloW ihr neunjähriges Jubiläum mit einem Solo-Live-Auftritt im Shinjuku Wild Side in Tokio. Wir hatten das Vergnügen, an diesem besonderen Ereignis teilzunehmen, und laden euch ein, diese Jubiläumsshow gemeinsam mit uns noch einmal zu erleben.
Sobald sich der Vorhang hebt, zieht eine imposante Konstruktion im hinteren Bereich der Bühne sofort die Aufmerksamkeit des Publikums auf sich. Daran sind drei Bildschirme angebracht, über denen ein beleuchtetes Element thront, das einem Neonlogo ähnelt. Dahinter zeigt ein großer Bildschirm den Namen MonstlloW in einem eindrucksvollen visuellen Effekt, der an eine Laserprojektion erinnert. Yutara betritt als Erster die Bühne, kurz darauf folgt Laki. Beide Musiker präsentieren zum ersten Mal ihr neues Erscheinungsbild mit sorgfältig gestylten Frisuren und Make-up. Nachdem sie das Publikum begrüßt haben, heben sie ihre Arme in einer Geste der Einheit, bevor Laki begeistert „Los geht’s!“ ruft und damit die Jubiläumsshow offiziell eröffnet.
Die ersten Töne von „false“ erklingen und lösen sofort Moshen in der Menge aus. Laki beobachtet lächelnd und zufrieden, wie die Fans hin und her wogen, bevor er sich auf den Weg zur zentralen Bühne macht. Er breitet die Arme weit aus, singt einen Teil des Songs ohne Mikrofon und geht dann in die Hocke, um die Fans genauer zu betrachten, während diese weiterhin von einer Seite des Saals zur anderen hüpfen. Am Bass beeindruckt Yutara mit seinem technischen Können und wechselt mühelos zwischen kraftvollen Basslinien und Slap-Techniken. Während er den Hintergrundgesang übernimmt, tritt er regelmäßig an den Bühnenrand und hat dabei stets ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Den gesamten Song hindurch zeigen die Bildschirme Animationen, die das Publikum noch tiefer in das Universum von MonstlloW eintauchen lassen. Sowohl auf den an der Bühnenkonstruktion angebrachten Bildschirmen als auch auf der großen Leinwand im Hintergrund headbangen Skelette perfekt synchron mit der Menge. Von den ersten Augenblicken an sind die „Liars“ voll dabei und verleihen MonstlloW eine Energie, die dieser Feier zum neunten Jubiläum würdig ist.
Bei „Neo Masquerade“ beginnt der gesamte Saal, gemeinsam zu hüpfen. Während der Strophe stimmt Yutara in den Gesang ein, dabei drehen sich die Fans, ohne jemals mit ihrem rhythmischen Hüpfen aufzuhören. Voll und ganz in den Moment vertieft, tauscht der Bassist ständig ein Lächeln mit dem Publikum aus und stellt dabei erneut sein technisches Können durch mehrere beeindruckende Slap-Bass-Passagen unter Beweis. Die Stimmung erreicht einen neuen Höhepunkt, als Yutara einen Growl ins Mikrofon ertönen lässt, was sofort ein hallenweites Headbangen auslöst. Laki, der vorne auf der Bühne hockt, beobachtet die Fans, bevor er mit weit ausgebreiteten Armen aufsteht. Dann antwortet er mit einem eigenen kraftvollen Growl, wobei sich seine Stimme mit der von Yutara zu einer Performance verflicht, die sowohl wild als auch absolut leidenschaftlich ist.
„嘘泣キ少女“ (Usonaki shoujo) beginnt mit einem rasenden Headbangen, bei dem die Fans ihre Arme kraftvoll in die Luft werfen. Laki läuft quer über die Bühne zur rechten Seite und feuert das Publikum an, während Yutara zur Mitte der Bühne hüpft und begeistert mitsingt. Während des Refrains singt Laki jede Zeile mit großer Intensität und unterstreicht den Text mit ausdrucksstarken Hand- und Armbewegungen. Yutaras Growl lässt die Spannung in die Höhe schnellen, bevor ein weiterer kollektiver Headbang beginnt. Der Bassist begibt sich daraufhin hinter Laki, der vorne auf der Bühne hockt, und beugt sich in einer beunruhigenden Inszenierung über ihn. In rotes Licht getaucht, zeigt der Saal eine Abfolge von Headbanging und Oritatami. Nach diesem Energieschub ändert sich die Atmosphäre schlagartig. Unter violettem Licht bleibt Yutara regungslos über seinem Bass gebeugt stehen und überlässt das Rampenlicht ganz Lakis Solo, bevor er sich wieder aufrichtet, um den Song mit voller Kraft fortzusetzen.
Bei „Dirty Face“ ist die Bühne erneut in rotes Licht getaucht. Schon bei den ersten Tönen bahnt sich Yutara seinen Weg zur rechten Seite der Bühne, bevor Laki begeistert „Los geht’s!“ ruft und damit sofort ein rasendes Headbangen im gesamten Saal auslöst. Als der Bassist an den Bühnenrand tritt, gesellt sich Laki rechts zu ihm und beugt sich zu den vorderen Reihen hin. Während des rasanten Refrains geht der Sänger vor dem Publikum in die Hocke und hält Blickkontakt mit den Fans. Im Publikum bricht ein energiegeladenes Oritatami aus, während Yutara dicht über dem Boden spielt und sich über seinen Bass beugt. Laki spornt das Publikum daraufhin zu noch mehr Begeisterung an, indem er wiederholt „Mehr!“ ruft, bevor er hinzufügt: „Shinjuku! Ich kann euch nicht hören! Lauter!“, woraufhin die Menge in Jubel ausbricht. Ein letztes Growlen von Yutara, das er mit einem breiten Lächeln vorträgt, beendet den Song, dann folgt eine kurze Pause.
Nach vier besonders intensiven Songs nimmt sich Laki einen Moment Zeit, um das Publikum zu begrüßen. Er weist darauf hin, dass MonstlloW seit Januar nicht mehr aufgetreten ist, lächelt und sagt: „Fast sechs Monate, das ist viel zu lange!“ Anschließend stellt er die Bühneninstallation im Hintergrund vor, erklärt, dass er sie selbst entworfen hat, und fragt das Publikum, was es davon hält. Dann übernimmt Yutara das Mikrofon. „Es ist heute ziemlich heiß hier drin, oder?“, bemerkt er, woraufhin sowohl Laki als auch die Fans sofort zustimmen. Die beiden Musiker unterhalten sich anschließend über ihre neuen Outfits, ihre kürzlich veröffentlichten Promo-Fotos und die Idee, eine Veranstaltung mit mehreren Bands zu organisieren. Schließlich nimmt Yutara hinter dem Computer Platz, um das Publikum zu unterhalten, während Laki ihn scherzhaft mit den Worten „Los, DJ Yutara!“ neckt, bevor er den nächsten Song ankündigt.
Das Plätschern von Wasser eröffnet „Can you hear me?“ und schafft augenblicklich eine ruhigere Atmosphäre. Laki steht hinter seinem Mikrofonständer und begleitet die Einleitung mit anmutigen Armbewegungen, während Yutara sich von der Musik mitreißen lässt. Dann wird es auf der Bühne ganz still: In ein sanftes Scheinwerferlicht getaucht steht Laki allein vorne, während Yutara regungslos im Schatten verweilt und das Publikum schweigend zusieht. Blaues und goldenes Licht ersetzt die grellen Farbtöne der vorherigen Songs. Yutaras tiefe Basslinien weichen allmählich einem schnellen, präzisen Slap-Bass, der im gesamten Saal widerhallt. Laki umfasst das Mikrofon mit beiden Händen und wechselt mühelos zwischen klarem Gesang und kontrollierten Growls, bevor er leise ein aufrichtiges „Aishiteru“ (dt.: „Ich liebe dich“) singt und damit die Zeit zum Stillstand bringt. Schließlich bricht er den Zauber mit einem Lächeln: „Ich möchte, dass wir gemeinsam Spaß haben. Seid ihr bereit?“, lädt er das Publikum ein, gemeinsam mit ihm wieder in die Energie des Konzerts einzutauchen.
Mit „VIRTUAL FLIGHT“ kehrt die Energie sofort zurück. Schon bei den ersten Tönen springen die Fans wieder im Gleichklang in die Luft, während Yutara über die Bühne läuft, bevor er sich zu Laki in die Mitte gesellt. Seite an Seite stehend tauschen die beiden Musiker ein breites Lächeln aus und genießen sichtlich jeden Moment. Während das Publikum im Takt mitklatscht, macht Yutara mit, klatscht in die Hände und singt begeistert im Hintergrund mit. Er wiegt sich hinter seinem Bass hin und her und scheint jede Sekunde des Songs zu genießen. Als der Refrain einsetzt, treten die beiden gemeinsam nach vorne und spornen das Publikum dazu an, noch höher zu springen. Laki gestikuliert ununterbrochen in Richtung der Menge und verwandelt die gesamte Halle zu einem Ort, der vor Freude nur so strotzt. Wenn es einen Song von MonstlloW gibt, der alle mit seiner ansteckenden Energie mitreißen kann, dann ist es dieser.
Bei „Ms. Black Cat“ lässt die Energie von MonstlloW keineswegs nach. Hinter seinem Bass tanzt Yutara während des gesamten Songs, während Laki an den vorderen Rand der Bühne tritt und eine Hand an die Stirn legt, um den Blick über das Publikum schweifen zu lassen. Anschließend bewegt er sich zu beiden Seiten der Bühne und beugt sich über die vorderen Reihen, um so nah wie möglich an die Fans heranzukommen. Während des Refrains singt Yutara gemeinsam mit Laki, bevor er in einem Bass-Solo sein Können unter Beweis stellt, untermalt von einem Lächeln und einer verspielten Geste, bei der er die Zunge herausstreckt. Die Stimmung steigt sofort wieder an, als ein energiegeladener Mosh ausbricht. Yutara tanzt weiter, immer noch lächelnd, während Laki die Menge dazu anfeuert, noch heftiger zu hüpfen, bevor er „Jump!“ ruft und den gesamten Saal wie aus einem Guss in Bewegung versetzt. Nach einem weiteren kraftvollen Headbangen bringt Laki das Publikum ein weiteres Mal zum Jubeln, bevor er Yutara anspricht und seinem Bandkollegen einen letzten Moment gibt, mit seinem Bass zu glänzen.
„Greedy Monster“ versetzt den Saal wieder in einen Strudel aus Oritatami und Headbanging. Yutaras Bass rückt in den Mittelpunkt, als er ein erneutes, besonders kraftvolles Solo zum Besten gibt. Während des Refrains springen die Fans und wirbeln dabei ihre Handtücher herum, bevor sie gemeinsam in Headbangen ausbrechen, sobald die roten Lichter wieder aufleuchten. Als das Tempo nachlässt, weicht die violette Beleuchtung allmählich einem intensiven goldenen Schein, sodass Yutara für ein ausgedehntes Basssolo allein im Scheinwerferlicht steht — ein echtes Highlight des Songs, bei dem jede Note kraftvoll durch den gesamten Saal hallt. Laki heizt dem Publikum dann mit einem Growl erneut ein und löst damit ein weiteres Oritatami aus, bevor er die Fans mit ihrem Spitznamen anspricht: „Liars!“. Yutara kehrt an den vorderen Rand der Bühne zurück und rundet den Song mit einer Reihe verspielter, provokanter Gesten ab, die ans Publikum gerichtet sind.
Bevor MonstlloW in den letzten Teil der Show einsteigt, nimmt sich die Band einen Moment Zeit, um mit dem Publikum zu plaudern. Laki blickt auf den Werdegang der Band zurück und erklärt, dass sie sich nach mehreren Besetzungswechseln gefragt hätten, ob sie als Duo weitermachen oder neue Mitglieder rekrutieren sollten. Obwohl im letzten Jahr ein Manipulator zu ihnen auf die Bühne gekommen war, haben die beiden nun das Gefühl, die richtige Balance gefunden zu haben, und beschreiben ihre aktuelle Besetzung als „sowohl anspruchsvoller als auch einfacher“. Die beiden Musiker weisen zudem darauf hin, dass sie nun schon seit neun Jahren gemeinsam als MonstlloW auftreten – und dabei sind die Jahre, in denen sie bereits vor der Gründung der Band Seite an Seite gespielt haben, noch nicht mitgezählt.
Das Gespräch geht in entspannter Atmosphäre weiter und dreht sich nun um Yutaras kreatives Schaffen. Nachdem er noch einmal auf die Bühneninstallation im hinteren Teil des Saals eingegangen ist, verrät der Bassist, dass er auch das darüber angebrachte Logo im Neon-Stil entworfen hat. Die beiden Musiker sprechen dann über die T-Shirts der Band, die ebenfalls von Yutara entworfen wurden, bevor das Gespräch auf die Weltmeisterschaft und Videospiele kommt. Während Yutara zugibt, dass er sich mehr für Videospiele als für Fußball interessiert, bezeichnet sich Laki stolz als begeisterten Sportfan. Der Austausch endet mit einer lockeren Unterhaltung über „Super Smash Bros.“, Lakis Vorliebe für Fox als seinen Lieblingscharakter und ein paar amüsanten Imitationen von Yoshi, bevor der Sänger es Yutara überlässt, den nächsten Song vorzustellen. Sichtlich bewegt kündigt der Bassist den allerersten Song von MonstlloW an.
Die Eröffnungsszenen aus dem Musikvideo erscheinen auf den Bildschirmen, als „ビッグマウス・マーチ“ (Big Mouth March) einsetzt, und ziehen das Publikum augenblicklich in diese Welt hinein. Der Bassist gesellt sich daraufhin zu den Fans mit den Oritatami, bevor er zurückkehrt, um gemeinsam mit Laki einen Song nach dem anderen zu spielen, wobei er sich an ihn lehnt, während Laki sich nach hinten beugt. Der Song endet mit einem letzten gemeinsamen Headbangen mit dem Publikum, womit der Auftritt in derselben explosiven Atmosphäre ausklingt.
„WE ARE LIAR“ heizt die Stimmung gleich auf Hochtouren an. Schon in den ersten Sekunden brüllt Laki: „We are Liar! Louder!“, während Yutara wiederholt „Uso! Uso! Uso!“ singt, was vom Publikum sofort aufgegriffen wird. Schnell bricht ein Moshen aus, und die beiden Musiker stecken noch mehr Energie hinein, um die Stimmung auf dem Höhepunkt zu halten. Mit einem breiten Grinsen im Gesicht bahnt sich Yutara seinen Weg an den vorderen Rand der Bühne, bewegt sich im Takt des Pits und interagiert dabei ständig mit den Fans. Währenddessen steigt Laki auf die zentrale Bühne, reckt seine Faust in Richtung des hinteren Teils der Halle in die Höhe und beugt sich dann über das Publikum, um alle zum Mitmachen anzufeuern. „Uso! Uso! Uso!“-Rufe dringen aus allen Ecken der Halle, während die Menge bei jedem Refrain springt. Die Stimmung erreicht ihren Höhepunkt, als Laki ein letztes Mal in den hinteren Teil der Halle ruft, bevor er fragt: „Bereit für den letzten Song?“, und alle dazu auffordert, beim abschließenden Song noch einmal alles zu geben.
MonstlloW beendet ihre Jubiläumsshow mit „pap-para-par“ in einem letzten Energieschub. Schon bei den ersten Takten bricht erneut ein Mosh aus, während Yutara sich unermüdlich von einer Seite der Bühne zur anderen bewegt. Laki ruft kraftvoll „Atama!“ (dt.: Kopf!), womit er sofort ein saalweites Headbangen auslöst, bevor er für einige Momente auf der zentralen Plattform innehält, um den Anblick der völlig aus dem Häuschen geratenen Menge auf sich wirken zu lassen. Seine „Hey! Hey! Hey!“- Rufe werden vom Publikum aufgegriffen, während Yutara den Hintergrundgesang übernimmt. Ein weiteres Oritatami heizt die Menge an, bevor der gesamte Saal ein letztes Mal gemeinsam in die Luft springt. Lakis „Liar! Liar!“-Rufe hallen bis zu den letzten Tönen nach, woraufhin er herzlich abschließt: „Danke! Wir sind MonstlloW“. Inmitten von lautem Applaus und Jubelrufen der Fans verabschieden sich die beiden Musiker vom Publikum, bevor sie die Bühne verlassen.
Für die Zugabe kehrt Laki unter warmem Applaus allein auf die Bühne zurück. Scherzhaft weist er darauf hin, dass er nun auf sich allein gestellt sei, und gibt zu, dass er eigentlich nur ein Glas Wasser brauche, bevor er das Publikum fragt, wie ihm diese erste Show nach mehrmonatiger Bühnenpause gefallen habe. Währenddessen beobachtet Yutara ihn still vom Bühneneingang aus. Laki bedankt sich daraufhin bei den Fans und bittet Yutara, wieder auf die Bühne zu kommen. Mit dem Smartphone in der Hand beginnt Yutara spielerisch, die Farben des Logos, das oben an der Bühnenkonstruktion angebracht ist, in Echtzeit zu ändern. Nachdem er einige verschiedene Einstellungen ausprobiert hat, entscheidet er sich für einen blinkenden Regenbogeneffekt, der vom Publikum mit begeistertem Applaus bedacht wird.
Die beiden Musiker sprechen anschließend über ihre Pläne für die kommenden Monate. Sie verraten, dass sie bis Oktober einen neuen Song zusammen mit einem Musikvideo veröffentlichen wollen, räumen jedoch ein, dass dies eine hoch gesteckte Herausforderung sein wird. Außerdem weisen sie darauf hin, dass sie einen Großteil der Arbeit rund um dieses neunjährige Jubiläum selbst übernommen haben – vom Entwurf ihrer Kostüme bis hin zur Erstellung der Promo-Fotos. Um die entspannte Atmosphäre aufrechtzuerhalten, beendet Laki seinen Auftritt als Moderator mit einer Geschichte über das Accessoire, das er um den Hals trägt. Er erklärt, dass es ihn an das Accessoire erinnert, das er früher in der Grundschule getragen hat – eines, an dem er damals einfach nicht widerstehen konnte zu ziehen.
Zum Abschluss des Abends spielt MonstlloW noch einmal „false“ – diesmal mit einer Sondergenehmigung, die es dem Publikum erlaubt, zu filmen. Schon bei den ersten Tönen bricht erneut der Mosh aus. Yutara begibt sich auf die vordere Ausbuchtung auf der linken Seite der Bühne und heizt den Fans mit grenzenloser Energie ein, während Laki auf die Konstruktion im hinteren Bereich der Bühne klettert, um dort mehrere Passagen des Songs zu performen. Zwischen den Refrains klatscht der Sänger gemeinsam mit dem Publikum mit, bevor ein gemeinsames Headbangen den gesamten Saal in Wallung bringt.
Als letzter Song heizt „WE ARE LIAR“ die Stimmung noch einmal richtig an. Die Fans geben bis zur allerletzten Sekunde alles und stehen der Energie von Laki und Yutara in nichts nach, die sich vorne auf der Bühne versammeln, um diesen Abschluss mit dem Publikum zu teilen. Yutara stürzt sich mit unerbittlichem Headbangen, Sprüngen und Bewegungen, die perfekt synchron mit dem Song sind, in die Performance, während Laki ein letztes Mal auf die Bühnenkonstruktion klettert, um das Publikum anzufeuern. Der Song, ein echter Klassiker der MonstlloW-Live-Shows, bildet den perfekten Abschluss dieser Feier zum neunten Jubiläum.
Begleitet von warmem Applaus kündigt das Duo die Veröffentlichung einer „neuen MonstlloW“ im Oktober dieses Jahres an, bevor es sich herzlich beim Publikum bedankt. Laki verabschiedet sich unter dem Jubel der Fans, bevor er die Bühne verlässt. Yutara nimmt sich daraufhin einen Moment Zeit, um sich mit einem Winken bei allen zu bedanken, verbeugt sich tief und begibt sich hinter die Bühne – womit ein Abend zu Ende geht, der von mitreißender Energie, echter Chemie und unerschütterlicher Leidenschaft geprägt war.
Nach mehrmonatiger Bühnenpause feierte MonstlloW mit dieser Jubiläumsshow ein beeindruckendes Comeback. Mit ihrer grenzenlosen Energie und der unverwechselbaren Chemie, die das Duo schon immer ausgemacht hat, bewiesen Laki und Yutara, dass sie nichts von ihrer Kraft eingebüßt haben. Da bereits für Oktober ein neuer Song und ein neues Musikvideo geplant sind, fühlte sich diese Feier zum neunten Jubiläum für MonstlloW ebenso sehr wie ein Comeback an wie der Beginn eines neuen Kapitels – eines, das eine spannende Zukunft verspricht.
