MOTHER announced that they would disband next year on January 30th. Here is the translation of their official announcement:
"Thank you for always having supported the "animal band" MOTHER.
We've been active as MOTHER since last year, but we would like to inform you that we will become humans.
As a result of many discussions regarding our future activities centered on God, who is the general manager of MOTHER, we decided to change from animals to humans at the end of January 2021.
Since we judged it would be impossible to continue an animal band because we’re turning into humans, MOTHER will disband after our last one-man live “人と成る。” held on January 30th.
We’re deeply grateful to all the humans who always supported us and the people who have been involved in the band so far.”
As a reminder, MOTHER started their activities under the name "Animal band", before becoming MOTHER. They've always worn a kind of cat mask hiding their face. It seems that they're leaving their animal form to become humans, so maybe we can look forward to their comeback all together in a human form this time..?

Nous avons té actifs en tant que MOTHER depuis l'année dernière, mais nous aimerions vous informer que nous allons devenir humains.
Suite à de nombreuses discussions concernant nos activités futures centrée sur Dieu, qui est le manager général de MOTHER, nous avons décidé de passer d'animaux à humains fin Janvier 2021.
Vu que nous avons jugé impossible de continuer en tant que groupe animal puisque nous allons nous transformer en humains, MOTHER se séparera après notre dernier one-man “人と成る。” tenu le 30 Janvier.
Nous sommes profondément reconnaissants envers tous les humains qui nous ont toujours soutenus et toutes les personnes impliquées dans le groupe jusqu'à présent."
Pour rappel, MOTHER avait commencé ses activités sous le nom "Animal band", avant de devenir MOTHER. Ils ont toujours porté des sortes de masques de chat cachant leur visage. On dirait qu'ils vont quitter leur forme animal pour devenir humains, alors peut-être que nous pouvons nous attendre à les revoir tous ensemble bientôt sous leur forme humaine cette fois-ci..?
