2020 SUMMARY / BILAN 2020

Here is a summary of what happened in Visual Kei world during 2020. Disbandment and formation of bands, lineup change, pause of their activities or comeback, etc...
As you all know, 2020 has been a difficult year for the bands due to the coronavirus outbreak. Japan declared the state of emergency in March, and all bands had to cancel or postpone their shows. Most of the bands couldn't restart their live activities before the end of summer, and unfortunately some couldn't survive the situation. Let's hope that all bands who went on hiatus due to COVID-19 will manage to overcome this difficult time !

Regarding the disbandments : 47 bands disbanded within 2020 (they were twice as much in 2018, so coronavirus didn't impacted that many bands, as we could fear it).

Regarding the formation of bands : 49 bands or solo projects started in 2020 (they were 120 in 2018, around 110 in 2019... the impact of coronavirus is probably here).

Regarding the change of members within a band : 69 bands have been involved. Among them:

7 paused their activities or will pause them in 2021.
7 disbanded or will disband in 2021.

Regarding the pause of the activities : 15 bands went on hiatus.

Regarding the comebacks : 2 bands came back in 2020.

Finally, 2 bands changed their name!

Voici un récapitulatif de ce qui a eu lieu dans le monde du Visual Kei au cours de l'année 2020. Séparation et formation de groupes, changements au sein de leur formation, pause ou reprise des activités, etc...
Comme vous le savez tous, 2020 a été une année difficile pour le groupes à cause de l'épidémie de coronavirus. Le Japon a déclaré l'état d'urgence sanitaire en Mars, et tous les groupes ont dû annuler ou repousser leurs concerts. La plupart des groupes m'ont pas pu reprendre les concerts avant la fin de l'été, et malheureusement certains n'ont pas survécu à la situation. Espérons que tous les groupes qui se sont mis en pause à cause du COVID-19 arriveront à surmonter cette période difficile !

Concernant les séparations : 47 groupes se sont séparés courant 2020 (ils étaient le double en 2018, alors il semblerait que le coronavirus n'ait pas eu autant d'impact que nous le craignions).

Concernant les créations de groupes : 49 groupes ou projets solo on vu le jour en 2020 (ils étaient 120 en 2018, autour de 110 en 2019... c'est sans doute là que l'épidémie a eu une influence).

Concernant les changements de membres au sein du groupe : 69 groupes ont été concernés. Parmi eux :

7 se sont mis en pause ou vont s'y mettre courant 2021.
7 se sont séparés ou vont se séparer courant 2021.

Concernant la pause de leurs activités : 15 groupes sont concernés.

Concernant la reprise des activités : 2 groupes sont revenus sur le devant de la scène.

Enfin, 2 groupes ont changé de nom!
